What we Believe...

1.  The Holy Scriptures (King James Bible)

  1. The Word of God is “God breathed” and all we need in the direction and conduct of our life – 2 Tim 3:16-17
  2. The Word of God is preserved infallible through all generations – Psa 12:6-7
  3. Human penmanship, Divine authorship – 2 Pet 1:19-21
  4. The Word of God is truth – Jn 17:17


2.  The Person of God

  1. God is self-revealing and supreme – Psa 83:18
  2. God is creator and eternal – Psa 90:2
  3. God is a Triunity (one God in three persons) – Mt 28:19
  4. God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent – Psa 139:1ff


3.  The Person of Christ

  1. Christ is God – Jn 1:1
  2. Christ was sinless – 1 Pet 2:22
  3. Christ died a vicarious (experience in our place) death – 1 Pet 3:18
  4. Christ rose bodily from the dead – Mt 28:6
  5. He bodily rose into heaven – Acts 1:11
  6. He will come before the tribulation for the rapture – 1 Thess 4:16
  7. He will come pre-millennially – Rev 19:11


4.  The Person of the Holy Spirit

  1. He is God – Ac 5:3-4
  2. He is eternal – Heb 9:14
  3. He was active in creation – Gen 1:2
  4. He is essential to the new birth – Jn 3:6
  5. His relation to the unbelieving world is to restrain the Evil one until God’s purpose is fulfilled – 2 Thess 2:7
  6. He convicts of sin, of judgment, and of righteousness – Jn 14:16-17
  7. He bears witness to the truth of the Gospel – Jn 16:13

5. The Blood of Christ

  1. Sign of the new covenant that which allows forgiveness – Mt 26:28; Heb 9:11-15
  2. Justified by the blood – Ro 5:9

  4. Sinless blood, bought by the blood – 1 Pet 1:18-19


6. The Virgin Birth of Christ

  1. The seed of the woman (Mary) – Gen 3:15

  3. Supernatural conception by the Holy Ghost – Lu 1:35
  4. God’s only begotten son, made of a woman – Jn 3:16; Gal 4:4


7. The Devil/Satan

  1. Anointed cherub angel, cast out of heaven because of iniquity – Ezek 28:12-19
  2. Rebellious and prideful – Isa 14:12-14
  3. One-third of angels rebelled with him – Rev 12:4

8. Creation

  1. Instantaneous creation – Gen 1:1

  3. The Holy Spirit was involved – Gen 1:2
  4. Jesus Christ was involved – Jn 1:1-3; Col 1:16
  5. Man was created directly in God’s own image after His own likeness; man did not evolve from a lower to higher life form – Gen 1:26-27
  6. All animal and vegetable life was made directly and God’s established law was that they should bring forth only “after their kind” – Gen 1:11, 24


9. The Fall of Man

  1. Man was created in innocence under the law of his Maker, but by voluntary transgression, fell from his sinless and happy state - Gen 1:27; 2:15-17; 3:1-6, 23-24
  2. In Adam all die – 1 Cor 15:22
  3. Men are sinners by nature and choice – Ro 5:12
  4. Hell is the sinners doom and the lake of fire is their final destination – Ro 6:23; Rev 20:14-15


10. The Grace of God in Salvation

  1. We have no hope but God – Isa 64:6
  2. Mercy by grace – Tit 3:5
  3. Salvation is only by grace – Eph 2:8-9
  4. In order to be saved, sinners must be born again – Jn 3:3
  5. The new birth is a new creation in Christ Jesus, it is instantaneous and not a process – 2 Cor 5:17
  6. The new creation is brought about in a manner above our comprehension, not by culture, not by character, not by the will of man, but wholly and solely by the power of the Holy Spirit in connection with Divine truth – Jn 1:12-13


11. The Freeness of Salvation

  1. As many as will receive Him – Jn 1:12
  2. Whosoever will believe – Ro 10:9-10
  3. Salvation is offered to all – Jn 3:16
  4. God’s will is that all should come to repentance for salvation – 2 Pet 3:9


12. Justification

  1. Justified by the shed blood of Christ – Ro 5:9
  2. Justified by faith – Ro 3:28; 5:1
  3. Justified by His just-ness – 1 Pet 3:18
  4. Justification cannot come by works of the law – Ac 13:39; Ro 3:28; Gal 3:11-13


13. Repentance and Faith

  1. Repentance is essential to salvation – Lu 5:31-32; 13:3; 2 Pet 3:9; Ac 2:37-38
  2. Repentance is a change of mind and heart seen by works – Mt 3:8; Ac 26:20;

2 Cor 7:10-11

  1. Have to come by faith – Heb 11:6
  2. Repentance and faith must be present for salvation – Ac 20:21


14. The Security of the Believer

  1. Kept by God’s power – 1 Pet 1:3-5
  2. We are God’s possession – 1 Cor 6:19-20
  3. Christ will not release us – Jn 6:37
  4. No one can take us out of our salvation – Jn 10:28-30
  5. We cannot leave our salvation – Jn 6:39


15. The Indigenous Church

  1. Started by Jesus Christ – Mt 16:18
  2. Foundation laid by apostles and prophets, Christ being the head – Eph 2:20
  3. A church is headed, empowered, commissioned, and authorized by Christ to fulfill the purpose He defines. It consists of scriptually baptized believers united in doctrine – Mt 28:18-20


16. Baptism

  1. Proper authority is the local church, proper purpose is identification with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection and His doctrines – Ac 2:41-42
  2. Proper candidate is a believer and proper mode is immersion – Ac 8:36-38
  3. A local church ordinance – Mt 28:19


17. The Lord’s Supper

  1. Proper subject is a member of that local church, the proper administrator is the pastor of that church, and the proper purpose is to remember Christ’s atoning death and soon return – 1 Cor 11:17-34; Ac 2:41-47
  2. The proper elements are unleavened bread and unfermented wine (grape juice) – Mt 26:26-28
  3. A local church ordinance – 1 Cor 11:27-34


18. The Bride of Christ

  1. Presently seen in each local assembly, the church prospective will be the conglomerate “Church” or “Bride” (no spot or wrinkle) – Eph 5:25-27
  2. The future general assembly (the prospective church) – Heb 12:23


19. Adoption

  1. Granted by receiving Christ – Jn 1:12
  2. Witnessed by the Spirit, we are made heirs – Ro 8:14-17


20. Pre-Tribulation Rapture

  1. Saints delivered from wrath – 1 Thess 1:10
  2. Not appointed unto wrath – 1 Thess 5:9
  3. Paul expected a pre-trib catching away – 1 Thess 4:13-18
  4. The church is not mentioned during the tribulation time – Rev 6-19


21. Pre-Millennial Return of Christ

  1. Christ comes to an unconverted world (anti-post, anti-amillennial) – Lk 17:26-27
  2. The early church believed the King would come and then a literal kingdom – Ac 1:6


22. A Literal Heaven for Believers

  1. Heaven is God’s dwelling place – 1 Ki 8:30
  2. A place is prepared for us at the dwelling place of the Father – Jn 14:2


23. A Literal Hell for the Lost

  1. The unsaved go to hell upon death, and hell is a place of torment – Lk 16:23
  2. All who reject Christ will be cast into the lake of fire forever – Rev 20:14-15


24. Biblical Separation

  1. Separation from ungodly people and influences – 2 Cor 6:14-16
  2. Separation from groups or individuals teaching unsound doctrine – 1 Tim 6:5
  3. Separation from worldly people and practices – 1 Jn 2:15
  4. Separation from oath-bound secret societies, organizations, clubs, and/or groups (many of which are based upon pagan religions in their belief/practices and hold another form of salvation apart from Jesus Christ) – 2 Cor 6:14-16
  5. Heresy and Apostasy (movements contrary to the truth of the Faith)
  6. Separation from all forms of heresy and ecclesiastical apostasy – Ro 16:17-18
  7. Mark, rebuke, have no fellowship with, withdraw, receive not, have no company with, reject, and separate ourselves from all that are contrary to the truth – Eph 5:11; 2 Thess 3:14-15; Tit 1:13-16; 3:9-11; 1Jn 4:1-3
  8. Charismatic Movement: the movement (believers and or non-believers) that bases their faith on experience and feeling even when contrary to the Word of God. They do not hold to the completion and full authority of the Word of God but in continuous revelation equal to the scriptures. Many heretical teachings concerning the doctrine of God the Son, God the Father, and God the Spirit as well as the meaning of salvation and being a child of God.
  9. Ecumenical Movement: the movement that seeks the organizational unity of all religions. Its principle advocates are the World Council of Churches and the National Council of Church of Christ in the United States of America.
  10. Ecumenical Evangelistic Movement: the movement that promotes the Gospel by bringing fundamentals into an unequal yoke with theological liberals and/or Roman Catholics and other divergent groups.
  11. Neo-Orthodox Movement: the theological movement that affirms; the transcendence of God, the finiteness and sinfulness of man, and the necessity of supernatural divine revelation of truth; but while using evangelical terminology, seriously departs form orthodoxy; in accepting the vies of destructive higher criticism, in denying the inerrancy of the Bible as historic revelation, in accepting religious experience as the criterion of truth, and in abandoning important fundamentals of the Christian Faith.
  12. Neo-Evangelical Movement: the movement within evangelicalism characterized by a toleration of and a dialogue with theological liberalism. Its essence is seen in an emphasis upon the social application of the Gospel and weak, unclear doctrines of the inspiration of the Scripture and Biblical creationism. It is further characterized by an attempt to accommodate Biblical Christianity and make it acceptable to the modern mind by brining worldly philosophy and programs in the church so as to make them compatible instead of separate.
  13. New Age Movement: the movement that is involved in occultic practices which deals with satanic and demonic things. All New Age cults are evil; there is no difference, as they say, between a white and dark side.


25. Human Sexuality

  1. We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of marriage between a man and a woman. 1Corinthians 7:1-2, 9
  2. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery, and pornography are sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex. Genesis 2:24; Genesis 19:5,13; Genesis 26:8-9; Leviticus 18:1-30; Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:26-29; 1Corinthians 5:1, 6:9; 1Thessalonians 4:1-8; Hebrews 13:4
  3. We believe that the only legitimate marriage is the joining of one man and one woman. Genesis 2:24; Romans 7:2; 1Corinthians 7:10; Ephesians 5:22-23


26. Grace Giving

  1. We believe that God’s method of financing His earthly work of spreading the gospel to all nations, the care of the churches, and the support of the ministry is by the tithes and offerings of His people.
  2. That tithes and offerings are to be given to the Lord through His church to be distributed as directed by the leadership of the Spirit as the need arises; that the time to tithe is upon the first day of the week; that everyone is accountable to the Lord for one-tenth of his income; and that tithing was instituted long before the law was ever given and was practiced by the early church; under the Law they took the tithe but under grace the tithe is given. - 1Cor 16:2; Heb 7:1-17; Mal 3:8-11
